At the Bethlehem Pators’ Conference several weeks ago I picked up a copy of D. A. Carson’s book on his dad, Memoirs of an Ordinary Pastor, the Life and Reflections of Tom Carson. It is a great read. Until I heard about this book, I did not know that Don Carson had grown up as a child of the manse. His personal reminiscences are woven into the book along with excerpts from his dad’s diaries, letters and sermons and memories of those who knew Tom Carson.
The elder Carson spent most of his life ministering in French speaking churches in Quebec.
