Dan Sardinas is a friend, fellow pastor and church planter in my city. His little girl, Brianna was riding a school bus when a drunk driver crashed into it this week, sending her to the hospital for treatment. By God’s grace, she was not injured seriously and, also by God’s grace, local news stations sought out Dan for comment. In the interviews he granted He gave glory to our Lord by expressing his family’s forgiveness of the driver and prayer for his healing, all for the sake of Christ.
He recently wrote about what happened and I want to encourage you to read his words. Thank the Lord for His mercy to Brianna and her family (and the other children involved). Pray for the driver who awaits criminal charges as he is being treated in the hospital. And ask God to use the brief gospel witness to our community through Dan and his family.
Waiting for my daughter to get off the school bus on Wednesday afternoon felt normal untilmy phone rang. It was a number that I did not recognize. It was local, and since I’ve been applying for jobs, I decided to answer it. The voice on the other end of the phone was from a woman who said. “Hi Dan, I’m here with your daughter, Brianna. She is ok, but her school bus has just been in an accident on Santa Barbara. She is injured and the EMS is with her, they will be bringing her to Cape Coral Hospital”. (read the rest of the story)
